Day 9

That chart is my profit over the last week. I went up last week when we had our class time and I promoted a flyer to people on social media. So far I have earned about 6 more dollars in profit which I'm really excited about. I plan on ordering some products on my own so that people say where the shirt is from or can see how good the quality of the material is. I'm glad the website gave me options so that customers can choose what color they want their clothing item to be. I think that has made a big difference in encouraging people to buy and wear the products.

Day 8

I so far have made around 10 dollars in profit by selling 12 products. I'm very happy with how sales are going. The long sleeve shirts seem to be the most popular with 8 people have bought them so far. I'm happy with this amount because I lowered the prices of the products which means my profit was lower. I hope to doubt my profits by spreading the word more. I have also gotten a lot of positive feedback on how they are glad I'm spreading awareness to TD1.

Day 7

So far I have all my products in the shop and complete. They are ready for people to order them on the shop website. I have made a little flyer to post on social media along with putting the link to the shop on my profiles. Hopefully, this will encourage people to buy the products I made. Everything will be directly shipped to their homes, but I hope the shipping all works out well (because of the virus). I still need to donate the money I potentially make and keep in contact with my costumers.

Day 6

1.) So far this week I have made it so on every product you can read my story. I have also made a pair of socks and a hoodie. I figured out how you can make it so people can choose what color they want their product in.
2.) Currently, I'm working on making a tank top with the logo on it. I am also starting to promote my products on social media and friends and family.
3.) I hope to maybe make a flyer in order for people to get all the details of the products and start promoting it more.
This is the page of the hoodie and as you can see you can pick a color and read about why I'm making these products. The price makes it so I get a $1 profit and I will work on my prices if people don't agree.

Day 5

  • What have you done so far, and what remains to be completed between now and the middle of May?
So far I have made the logo for the clothes and I have started to design the long sleeve and short sleeve shirt. I found this really cool website called Teespring and you can make your own storefront and people can buy your products from there. I need to be continuing to make products and hopefully soon start promoting them for people to buy them. I hope to maybe start handing out some free stickers with my logo to encourage buyers. I hope to by the beginning of May have donated some of the profits to JDRF.
  • How has your project been impacted by the COVID epidemic?
My project hasn't been directly infected by the virus, but the association I'm donating to has. They have had to cancel all their charity events so that just makes me more eager to help them. I'm worried that in this crisis people won't want to spend money on a product.
  • What adjustments, if any, have you had to make to your project as a result?
I am making sure that my prices are low, while still making a little bit of profit to donate to the foundation. My project hasn't really been affected by the pandemic, but I feel bad for those that do have to make a lot of adjustments.

Day 3

1. Problem Statement - There's no cure for Type 1 diabetes. The supplies to treat this uncontrollable disease are very costly.

2. It Gets Worse - If there's continues to be no cure, and cost for insulin raises then the death rate of Type 1 diabetics will raise.

3. A glimmer of Hope - With more money donated to the JDRF, there is a higher likelihood of scientists finding a cure.

4. The Novel Solution - By bringing awareness with a physical product and why I'm doing this project on my online store, people will want to encourage others to donate and donate money themselves. If people don't have money then they can look on the JDRF website on other ways to help.

5. The Credible Authority - Ever since I was born, my dad's diabetes was apparently a problem I would have to help him with. I learned all about ways to help and keep track of my dad's sugar. Knowing that this disease is something he uncontrollably got is the worst part for me. Finding a cure for not only my dad, but everyone is something I'm devoted to.

6. The Vision - Here is a sample photo of the design logo I plan to put on my apparel..

I also will post this "My dad has been struggling with type one diabetes since he was 18, so it has been a big part of my life being able to experience his journey. To help out other families and find a cure, 100% of the proceeds from the shirt will be donated to JDRF. Thank you so much!" on my store page and by each piece of clothing.
